Loft & Bunk Beds

When floor space is tight or the kids are sharing a room, bunk and loft beds are the clever solution that gives everyone their own zone. Bunks stack two sleepers to free up the floor, while loft beds lift the bed up high and open up space underneath for a desk or play nook. Plus, let's be honest — kids absolutely love having their own elevated hideaway. Our range makes the most of every square metre.

FAQs

Can I request assistance to assemble the bunk beds?

Check the current assembly and delivery options at checkout or get in touch with our team, as assembly assistance may vary by product and location.

Can bunk beds be returned if they don’t fit?

Check the current returns information at checkout or on the product listing before you order, as product-specific conditions may apply to bunk and loft beds.

Are bunk beds available in single and king single configurations?

Yes — our range includes both NZ Single and NZ King Single sizing across different bunk and loft models, so check the individual listing for the size you need.

What age range are bunk beds suitable for?

This varies by product, so check the individual listing and manufacturer guidance for age suitability. For top bunks, follow current safety guidance as well as the product's own instructions.

Can the top and bottom bunks be separated and used individually?

This depends on the specific model — some bunk beds are designed to separate into two standalone single beds, while others aren't. Check the individual product's specifications before assuming this is possible.

Are bunk beds delivered in flat packs or pre-assembled?

Packaging, delivery and assembly requirements vary by product. Check the individual listing for the specific delivery format and assembly details before you order.

What is the weight limit for a bunk bed in NZ?

There's no single weight limit across all bunk beds — it's set per product based on its construction, so check the individual listing's specifications rather than assuming a standard figure.

What age is safe for a child to sleep in the top bunk?

Follow current NZ safety guidance and the specific manufacturer's age guidance for the product you choose rather than relying on a single age rule across all bunk beds.

What mattress size fits a standard bunk bed in NZ?

Our bunk and loft beds are sized for NZ Single or NZ King Single mattresses depending on the model, so check the individual listing to confirm which size your chosen bed needs — and check the maximum mattress depth so the guardrails stay effective.

Bunk Beds vs Loft Beds — Which Is Right for Your Family?

It comes down to who is sleeping and what you need from the room. A bunk bed has two sleep levels stacked on top of each other. A loft bed has a single raised sleeping platform with space underneath, but the intended use and configuration of that space varies by model. Some bunk configurations also include a trundle for occasional extra sleeping space; check the individual listing for the exact setup and dimensions.

Safety First: What to Know Before Buying a Bunk Bed

In NZ, bunk and other elevated beds are covered by AS/NZS 4220, which sets requirements for areas such as guardrails, access and structural safety. Check the individual product information and manufacturer guidance for applicable safety and compliance details. Current safety guidance and the manufacturer's instructions should also be checked for top-bunk age suitability. Check the maximum mattress depth and product weight guidance on the individual listing, as these vary by model.
